You won’t find a better place for entertainment, nightlife and cheap accommodation than Kuta, at least on the island of Bali. The easiest way of reaching Kuta is a ride from Ubud, which lasts for about 90 minutes.
Atmosphere in the street
In the Poppies Gang II street, there are hundreds of stands where you can buy literally anything and everything. Don’t forget to bargain, because sellers are looking forward to that! If you are a lover of malls, you’ll certainly have fun at Discovery, which is a modern shopping mall.
Streets are usually crowded with tourists, most of them usually are young Australian people. You can also hear Russian, Czech and German, of course. Having in mind that there are a lot of tourists, in Kuta you’ll also find a bunch of tourist agencies, which may offer all kinds of water sports activities, tours around the island, but also transport to Gili islands which are near Lombok. Depending on the type of transportation service, costs may vary. By the seaside, you’ll be able to notice some luxury resorts with pools and wonderful, expensive bungalows.
Evenings in Kuta
During the evenings, there are even more people in the streets of Kuta. Some places of the city are that crowded that traffic jams are inevitable, or, better said – usual. In the streets, like on the beaches, people behave pretty liberally.
It is not uncommon to meet a large number of dressed up girls, ready for a party. There is a bunch of discotheques and clubs, and the real thing starts after midnight. Until then, things are heating up in bars. One of the interesting facts is that several sporting goods and shoes stores don’t close during the whole night. Their marketing strategies are actually pretty amusing – young people working there attract customers by playing house music.
Eating in Kuta
As we have already mentioned, prices in Kuta are pretty low. To have a solid meal, such as chicken with cheese, ham and fries, you don’t have to spend more than 55 000 IDR, drink included. Some of the great places for eating in Kuta are:
· Kuta Beachwalk shopping center
On the terrace of the mall, there are stands with typical Indonesian food and all around are tables for you to eat, in a picnic manner. The payment system is pretty interesting: you will see the main counter, where you will pay money for a special card.
You will use the card to pay for the food served on any of the stands. The amount you didn’t spend will be returned to you at the end of the meal at the same counter. Every stand serves different types of food.
· The Iron
If you are in need of relaxed dinner or drink, you should go to beach Seminyak and enjoy dinner at this place. The Iron is a wonderful restaurant with couches and chairs placed in the sand, on the beach. The place is colorful, vivid, and it has either live music or DJs. It’s an excellent place for chilling out, especially popular among youth.
